Fedelm NoÃchrothach
Fedelm Noíchride [' feðelm ' noiçriðe ] (" Fedelm Nine Heart " ), also Fedelm Noíchrothach ( " Nine times Fedelm you" ), is the name of a legendary figure from Celtic mythology of Ireland.
In the Táin Bó Cuailnge ( " The Cattle Raid of Cooley " ) is Fedelm Noíchride the daughter of the king of Ulster, Conchobar mac Nessa, and the wife of Cairbre Nia Fer, king of Tara. She starts a love affair with the Ulter hero Cu Chulainn, though her servant said to have been the lover in a later revised version of the text. After Cairbres death by the hand of Cú Chulainn marries Fedelm Conall Cernach who had killed her son Erc mac Cairbri Niad -Fer in revenge for Cú Chulainn 's assassination.
In the story Fled Bricrenn ( " Bricrius hard " ) Fedelm Noíchride is named as wife of the Warrior Loegaire Buadach.
