Federation of Swiss Protestant Churches
The Swiss Protestant Churches SEK (French: Fédération des Églises protest antes de Suisse FEPS ), headquartered in Bern is the merger of the Reformed Churches ( cantonal churches ) and the United Methodist Church in Switzerland.
History
The SEC was established in 1920; Predecessor organizations were the Protestant Diet and the resulting 1858 Swiss Reformed Church Conference. In 1946 he founded the aid organization of the Protestant Churches of Switzerland ( HEKS ) and 1963, the collective work for bread brothers, ie since 1990, Bread for All. In 1970, the Social Ethical Institute, which was renamed the Institute of Theology and Ethics, 2004.

Advice
The Council is the executive organ of the SEC and is led by the President. In general, the seven members ( nine members until 2010) of the Council meet once a month for a two- day meeting in Bern.

Representative assembly
The Representative Assembly AV is the parliament (legislature ) of the SEC. It occurs two times a year, in June as a guest of a member church, in November in Bern. The member churches are represented by 70 MPs, diakonia and the Women's Conference set two delegates with speech and petition rights.
The Representative Assembly elects the Presidium and the members of the Council, accepts the annual report and decides on budget and financial statements. You can grant to the Council on the path of motions and postulates orders that require information about interpellations and bring in resolutions their stance on current issues expressed.

The office at Sulgenauweg 26 in Bern employs around 35 people in the departments:

It is headed since January 1, 2011 by Philippe Woodtli.
Ecumenical Relations
The SEC is a member of many ecumenical organizations, including the World Council of Churches, the World Communion of Reformed Churches and the Community of Protestant Churches in Europe.
