Fender Cyclone

The Fender Cyclone Electric Guitar is one of the lower to middle price category of the Fender company.

History

Fender made ​​these instruments before the first time in 1997. They were made ​​in Mexico and had the appearance of a typical sixties guitar. The body shape and the chrome electronics compartment cover were the Fender Mustang borrowed, although the body was made ​​slightly thicker. The tremolo on the other hand came from the Stratocaster. The guitars were produced until 2006. Early 2008 were still some remnants found in music stores.

Construction

Fender typical of the alder body is. The bolt-on maple neck wood is fitted with a rosewood fingerboard and has 22 frets. The scale length of 24 ¾ inches shorter than a Fender usual. The standard model is equipped with a synchronized tremolo. In the neck position, the guitar features a Tex-Mex Stratocaster pickup in single-coil construction ( single coil ), while in the bridge position doppelspuliger Fender Atomic humbucker is installed. The circuit consists of a master volume control, a master tone knob and a three - way switch. The very different output power of the two pickups means that in the intermediate position of the three-way switch is heard almost exclusively the humbucker sound.

Further developments

In the period 2000/2001 the Fender Custom Shop in Corona / California produced some Cyclone -based vehicles, which were offered as "made in USA ". In 2002, the Cyclone II was introduced (see photo). With three oblique built Jaguar single-coil pickups, the three also Jaguar -like, built in a chrome plate slide switches and rally stripes, as they were used for some time at the Fender Mustang, the retro character was even more pronounced than in the Cyclone. The slide switches it was easy off switch for each pickup. With the Cyclone HH in 2006, which was equipped with two Fender Atomic humbuckers, the development of the Cyclone models came to a conclusion.
