Ferdi Vierklau

Ferdinand " Ferdi " Vierklau (born 1 April 1973 in Bilthoven ) is a former Dutch football player. The defender played División for different clubs in the Eredivisie and for CD Tenerife in the Primera. Twice he played in the Dutch national team.

Club career

Four Klaus professional career began in 1991 at FC Utrecht, for which he already had a 18 -year-old season five inserts. In the following four seasons he was a regular player in the Eredivisie. After five years with a total of 117 missions, he spent a season at Vitesse Arnhem before joining in the summer of 1997 in the Primera División. One and a half years he remained at CD Tenerife, before joining Ajax Amsterdam in the winter of 1998 /99. With Ajax In 1999 he became Cup Winners' Cup and won the Double in 2002 and the Super Cup. Internationally, he played for Ajax in the UEFA Cup four times and came in 2001 to use one in the Champions League qualifiers. He could never take off properly in Amsterdam and, after 38 missions in three and a half seasons for amateur club VV RUC.

National

After Vierklau had already heard in August 1996 against Brazil in the squad of Bond coach Guus Hiddink, he came on October 5, 1996 on his first international cap. In the 3-1 victory of the Dutch in the World Cup qualifier against Wales in Cardiff, he played from the beginning. After 71 minutes, he was replaced with the score at 1-0 for Wales against Pierre van Hooijdonk, the balancing and again three minutes later scored the opening goal just a minute after coming on.

In the following games Vierklau was on to the cadres of the Oranje, but sat as a reserve player five times on the bench before he came on 4 June 1997 to his second in a 2-0 win against South Africa in Johannesburg. After this game, he no longer appeared on the national team.
