Ferdinand von Arnim

Ferdinand von Arnim (* September 15 1814 in Treptow an der Rega, † March 23, 1866 in Berlin) was a German architect and construction officer, Mr Prussian, the next was also active as a watercolor painter. He was a student of Karl Friedrich Schinkel and worked mainly in Berlin and Potsdam.

From 1833 to 1838 he was in Berlin at the Royal Building College training as architects. In 1839 he became a member of Architects of Berlin. From 1840 he worked as a foreman at Ludwig Persius, 1844, he was building inspector, builder in 1845 the castle building commission. He also worked as an architect of Prince Carl of Prussia.

From 1846 he was a teacher, a professor at the Berlin Academy of Architecture from 1857. In 1848 he was court architect. 1855-1863 he worked among others for Prince Hermann von Pueckler in Branitz. In 1862 he was court architect in Potsdamer department of the Ludwig Ferdinand Hesse ( 1795-1876 ).

In 1866 he died and was buried in the cemetery of Potsdam Bornstedt in Sello part ( near the tomb of Ludwig Persius ).
