Ferenc Rofusz

Ferenc Rófusz ( born August 19, 1946 in Budapest) is a Hungarian animator.

Life

Rófusz interested in early for animated films and visited during school hours drawing and animation courses. He worked from 1966 as a set designer and animator at the Hungarian Mafilm and came in 1968 to Pannonia Film Studio, where he worked with Marcell Jankovics. His debut film as a director was 1974, the Animated Short Film A kő. For The Fly 1981 he received an Oscar in the category " Best Animated Short Film ".

In 1984 Rófusz moved as guest workers in the Federal Republic and worked as an animator on long animated film The Ark is the worm in it. Rófusz went four years later with his wife and two sons to Canada where he worked as a commercial director and in 1990 its own movie production studio founded. For economic reasons, he had to close the mid- 1990s his studio. After some time, a parallel work in the U.S. and Canada in 2002, he returned to Hungary.
