Fernand Point

Fernand Point (* 1897 in Louhans, † 1955 in Vienne) was a French chef and is considered one of the fathers of the nouvelle cuisine.

Life

He broke with the traditions Escoffiers by example, left his kitchen to chat with guests. He ran the restaurant La Pyramide in Vienne. His pupils included Paul Bocuse, Alain Chapel, Francois Bise, Louis Outhier and Jean and Pierre Troisgros.

At a size of 1.92 m at times he weighed 165 kg and was 169 cm waist circumference, which he named in reference to his daily consumption of a bottle of champagne "Magnum".
