Dangers was the F300, 1998 by Michael Schumacher and Eddie Irvine. With six victories this season, Schumacher was able to keep the championship open for a long time. The decision was made at the last two races. Before the Grand Prix of Luxembourg Schumacher and McLaren driver Mika Hakkinen had reached 80 points each. At the Nürburgring Hakkinen overtook started from pole position, Schumacher after the first pit stop and drove to victory. At the last race in the Japanese Grand Prix Schumacher had to go from last place on the grid, because he had stalled the engine of the F300 at the pre-start. In the race, after a puncture and dropped out in both championships - drivers and constructors - the Scuderia had to settle for second place.
