Ferrovie Emilia Romagna

The Ferrovie Emilia Romagna ( FER ) are a regional transport companies in the Italian region Emilia -Romagna.

The company operates a 354 km long network, which was created by the continued adoption of some private companies. The ARR also offers some train connections of regional significance on the routes of the state Rete Ferroviaria Italiana.

History

The Ferrovie Emilia Romagna was established on 1 January 2001. They took over the functions of four former Commissioner businesses:

  • Ferrovia Bologna Porto Maggiore (FBP )
  • Ferrovia Parma - Suzzara (FPS )
  • Ferrovia Suzzara - Ferrara ( FSF)
  • Ferrovie Padane (FP)

On January 21, 2013 Stadler Rail and AnsaldoBreda handed over the first of 32 FLIRT EMUs to the Ferrovie Emilia Romagna. It also has two Dieseltriebüge were ordered, the order is worth a total of 200 million euros, with an option for 20 more FLIRTs and GTWS.
