Fetească albă

The white grape Fetească Albă ( German: White girl grape) is an indigenous variety from Moldavia and parts of Transylvania. It is especially in Eastern European countries such as Bulgaria (about 1000 hectares), Moldova, Romania (about 10,590 acres ), Hungary (about 200 hectares) and widespread in Ukraine. The global spread amounts to about 14,000 hectares under vine. Fetească Albă is a variety of the noble vine (Vitis vinifera ). It has hermaphrodite flowers and is thus self- fruiting. When the wine-growing economic disadvantage is avoided, no return delivered to have male plants grow.

The early maturing variety produces wines rich in alcohol very fragrant, reminiscent of peaches and apricots in the aroma. Dry expanded it lacks the white wine often of acid. The variety is but used in the blend, for example, for the famous dessert wine Cotnari and purity expanded to Fetească, which is in his native Transylvania also called Pearl of Tirnave.
