Finale is a computer program of the U.S. company MakeMusic for music notation. It allows you to create and print scores, and can handle all common tasks of classical music engraving. The music entered can be played through the sound card via MIDI, the included Garritan sampling library or via the VST interface with other sampling libraries. The program also has a film window to input music is synchronized to the film through images. Import and export functions for MP3, WAV, or MusicXML files complement the possibilities. Final is available for the current Windows and Mac OS X versions. In the German-speaking finals by Klemm Music Technology is sold.

Functions

Finale has different working views. The touch screen can be displayed as a leaf, as a roll or the so-called studio view, which is the look and feel inspired by sequencers. To set of characters or to edit the musical text as icons must be selected for each step of the sidebars. The tool- oriented workflow, such as we know about Photoshop is also criticized by some users especially in comparison to its competitors as unintuitive. This contrasts with the great wealth of options and additional features in the multimedia connectivity. In addition to a blender and a film window has finals on numerous music fonts and supports the VST standard.
