Finland men's national volleyball team

The Finnish national volleyball team of men is a selection of the best Finnish player who represents the Association Suomen Lentopalloliitto F. Y. in international tournaments and international matches.

History

World cup

The first participation in a World Volleyball Championship in 1952, the Finns eleventh. In the years 1962 to 1970, there was only enough for the positions 18, 19 and 20 tournaments in 1978 and 1982 ended Finland to 17th place

Olympic games

Finland has never qualified for the Olympics.

European

In the first three appearances at European Volleyball Championships, the Finns occupied from 1955 to 1963 places eleven and fourteen. In 1971 she was in eleventh and 1977 they did not come despite home advantage on the eleventh addition. 1981, 1983 and 1991 they were the first time among the top ten teams. As the 1993 European Championships again took place in their own country, they were ninth. Four years later, they reached the eleventh. At the European Championships in 2007, they managed fourth their best result.

World Cup

World League

In the World League, the Finns in 1993 twelfth. In 2006, she returned as tenth and increased the following year to seventh place. After a tenth place in 2008, there were 2009 again in seventh place. After that, the Finns landed only on the 13th and ten.

Europe League

In the Europa League, the Finns occupied in 2004 to sixth place. 2005, they were subject only in the final against Russia.
