The parliamentary elections in Finland 1975 was held on 21 and 22 September 1975. It was the election of the 27th Parliament of Finland.

After the resignation of Kalevi Sorsa Social Democrats, President Urho Kekkonen had made arrange new elections. Big loser of the election was the Country Party of Finland (SMP ), which was able to win 18 seats in 1970 and was keeping them in the elections in 1972. In 1975, she lost 16 of their seats. All other parties with the exception of the Swedish People's Party and the Social Democratic Party, which nevertheless remained the strongest force could, to win seats.

Starting position

After the election

Martti Miettunen of the Centre Party was formed after the election of a grand coalition that possessed a broad three-quarters majority in parliament. In September 1976, the coalition fell apart and Miettunen formed a government without the Left parties. However, the government had only 58 elected officials behind. In May 1977, Kalevi Sorsa of the Social Democratic Party formed a government finally that belonged to the same parties as the government Miettunens after the election.
