FK Polonija Vilnius

Polonija Vilnius ( Wilno Polish Polonia ) is a Lithuanian football club from Vilnius and currently plays in the second division.

History

The club was founded in 1951 by members of the Polish minority in Lithuania. The greatest sporting success was the rise in the rate A Lyga in 1999., Where you then also managed once in the league before we descended again as Table. Between 2001 and 2005, we then played five years in the second class 1 Lyga, where one champion twice. However, both times did not increase it to the first division, because at the time the number of first division was reduced, so that there was no climber.

After the 2005 season you got from the Lietuvos Futbolo Federacija the license revoked and had relegated to the fourth division. After it took five years to at least re- ascend to the third tier, succeeded there directly the walkover in the second division.
