Sūduva Marijampolė ( full name: Futbolo Klubas Sūduva Marijampolė ) is a Lithuanian football club from the district capital Marijampolė and currently plays in the first division.

History

Sūduva Marijampolė was founded in 1968. The club played in the Soviet period in the regional championship Lithuanian. After the country's independence, the club started unterklassig and played from the 1995/96 season in the second division. Although successful in the following season, the climb, just before the Erstligasaison you were, however, returned the license and continued playing second-rate. After half of 1998/99 season they finished the participation in the second division and was relegated as an automatic in the transitional season in 1999, when it was changed to calendar year rhythm, placed in the third division.

The following season, succeeded as the first table of the rise and with a second place in the second division in 2001, the direct walkover in the A Lyga. There they fought in the first years against relegation before 2005 with the third place the first participation succeeded at the European Cup. In qualifying for the UEFA Cup they won in the first round against the Welsh club Rhyl FC, ​​then but failed at FC Bruges in the second round.

In 2006 they won with a 1-0 victory over Ekranas Panevezys first time the Lithuanian Cup. In the 2009/10 season Sūduva reached the final of the Baltic League. After it was 3-3 after extra time, the club was defeated with 3:5 in a penalty shoot-out against FK Ventspils.
