Flamurtari Vlorë

KS Flamurtari Vlora is an Albanian football club based in Vlora. The club currently participates in the Kategoria Superiore, the highest Albanian League, in part.

History

Founded in 1923 under the name SK Jerome Vlora, received the club in 1935 a new name: For ten years he was called KS Ismail Qemali Vlora after the country's founder Ismail Qemali before one ( German: Standard Bearer ) at the end of the war for the first time the present name Flamurtari was. 1951 christened the club in Puna Vlorë ( German: Working Vlora ). Six years later the next rename when you turn the old name Flamurtari was that still exists today. 1930 was one of the sports club of the founding members of the first championship.

The club had to wait until the 1980s before einstellten be the first successes. 1985 succeeded against FK Partizani Tirana with a 2-1 victory in the success of the first Albanian Cup, 1988, with a 1-0 win against the same opponent, the second triumph in this competition. However, as these same national champions were, they played in the Albanian Supercup against each other and Flamurtari took the title.

The most successful year for Flamurtari was 1991, when they won the regional championship and first in the cup final at Partizani Tirana failed on penalties.
