Flávio Amado

Flávio da Silva Amado ( born December 30, 1979 in Luanda ) is an Angolan football player. Usually he is only called Flávio.

Career

From the 1990s onwards, the striker Flávio played the Angolan champions Petro Atletico record from the capital Luanda. The early 2000s, he had his greatest success there. Twice in succession, the team was Angolan champions and was in the 2001 Champions League season with the top four teams in Africa. He was voted best player of the tournament. He was also top scorer in the Angolan league.

In 2005 he sought the challenge abroad and joined the African top club Al -Ahly Cairo to Egypt, where he signed for four years. However, his first year there was anything but satisfactory. Although the team was undefeated through the season and out of the Championship and the African Champions League won, he could only contribute a single goal for the club, despite numerous applications. In 2009, he moved to Saudi Arabian club Al Shabab Riyadh. Since the summer of 2011 Flávio played for Belgian club Lierse SK, but he left again in April 2012.

In the Angolan national Flávio plays since 3 September 2000. He had been 67 missions for his country, including in qualifying for the FIFA World Cup 2006 in Germany, where he met with two goals also to the historical first qualification of the country for a WM contributed.

After his strike partner Fabrice Akwa he was the player with the second most international appearances in the World Cup squad of Angola. At the World Cup in the final group game against Angola to Iran, he scored the first goal of his home country in World Cup history.

At the Africa Cup 2010 he is in the squad of the Angolan team. In the opening game against Mali, he scored two goals.
