Florian Fritsch

Florian Fritsch (born 29 October 1985 in Munich) is a German professional golfer who by his 6th place in the crucial stage of European Tour Q- School gained his tour card for the 2011 European Tour in 2010.

Career

Florian Fritsch began at the age of 10 years the game of golf at the Golf Club Pfaffing in Munich. At age 12 he decided to become a professional golfer. By the support of his parents, he was three years visiting the Leadbetter School in Bradenton, Florida, United States. After his return, he moved in 2002 to the Golf Club St. Leon-Rot. Between 2001 and 2008 he played in the golf team. After successes in the amateur field, he gained five gold medals with the German team, and was four times German champion ranking, he moved in 2008 to the professional. By his 15th place in the Second Qualifying Stage of the European Tour Q- School at Sherry Golf Jerez in Jerez, Spain, he secured his eligibility to play for the Challenge Tour in 2009., Where he was in 2009 with two second places and 31 rank of a of the best German players. His first victory as a professional, he obtained on the EPD Tour by winning the Good winter Brock Classic in May 2009. He announced in early 2010, to retire from the professional sports. The reasons he stated, mentally not to be mature enough for the professional sport and not being able to withstand the intense pressure. In addition, a fear of flying has evolved with him. Nevertheless, he played with some of the Challenge Tour tournaments and also scored a Top 10 result. These is his victory of Heidelberg Lobenfeld Classic 2010. With the 15th in the crucial stage of European Tour Q- School he won the eligibility for the European Tour 2011.

At the Andalucia Open in Malaga Fritsch reached in March 2011 with the split eighth place his first top- ten finish on the European Tour. At the end of the season it was enough but then with the 156th rank in the money list not to give the tour map.
