Florian Gerster

Florian Gerster ( born May 7, 1949 in Worms) is a German politician (SPD). He was a minister in Rhineland -Palatinate and Chairman of the Board of the Federal Employment Agency.

Life and career

After graduating from high school in 1968 at Rudi -Stephan -Gymnasium in Worms and subsequent military service Gerster studied psychology and business administration at the University of Mannheim. From 2002 to 2004 he was Chairman of the Board of the Federal Employment Agency. Since then he has worked as a management consultant in Frankfurt am Main. Political career

17 years old, joined Gerster 1966 in the SPD. His political career began in 1974 as the city council in Worms. In 1977, he appeared as substitutes by Lucie Kölsch in the Landtag of Rhineland- Palatinate. In 1987 he was elected to the Bundestag, which he resigned his seat in Parliament. From 1991 to 1994 he was Minister for Federal and European Affairs of the State of Rhineland -Palatinate, in October 1994, he joined the Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Health. Since the year 2001, he was also responsible for family policy. From 2001 to 2002 he was again a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate Landtag.
