Florian Jenni

Florian Jenni ( born March 24, 1980 in Lieli ) is a Swiss chess player and grandmaster.

He learned five years the game of chess from his parents. In 2000 he won the bronze medal at the European Junior Championships. In 2002, he won the title of Grand Master.

Jenni won the tournaments in Lenk ( 2002), Silvaplana (2003 - so it was this year Swiss national champion ) and Winterthur ( 2005). In 2006 he was in Lenzerheide for the second time Swiss single master.

Jenni is a member of the Swiss national team. In the Swiss National League A ( SMM), he plays for the Zurich Chess Club and the Swiss Chess League ( SGM ) for the ASK Winterthur. In Germany he played for SK Godesberg, in the 2007/ 08 season in the 1st Bundesliga.

In November 2010, Florian Jenni announced his retirement from competitive chess sport. He justified this with motivation problems and a lack of future perspective.
