Fly (band)

Fly is an American jazz band, featuring Mark Turner ( saxophone), Larry Grenadier ( bass) and Jeff Ballard (drums) exists.

They have founded the piano -less trio, after they had worked together in Chick Corea band project originations; Ballard and Grenadier had already played together as teenagers in California. 2003 established at Savoy Records debut album Fly, which was published the following year. In January 2008, the trio recorded in New York on the second album Sky & Country, which was released on the ECM label. 2010 joined the trio, which sees itself as a "democratic collective " in which each member contributes pieces to the repertoire and nobody is acting as a leader, on Jazz Baltica and at the Newport Jazz Festival. 2012 was followed by the album Year of the Snake. Stylistically, the trio oriented according to Allmusic recordings of John Coltrane and Wayne Shorter on the Blue Note label.
