Fons Hickmann

Fons Hickmann (born 1966 in Hamm ) is a German graphic designer, typographer, author and professor at the University of the Arts Berlin.

Life

Hickmann studied photography and communication design at the Fachhochschule Dusseldorf, aesthetics and media theory in Wuppertal. The Fons Hickmann m23 design studio in Berlin gives priority to the development of complex communications systems, corporate design, book, poster, magazine and web design.

Fons Hickmann m23 in 2001 won the prestigious competition for the corporate design of the Kieler Woche. His works were represented on all international design biennials. Hickmann was until the end of 2007, full professor at the University of Applied Arts Vienna, before he took over the chair of Grafik-Design/Kommunikationsdesign in the Faculty of Arts at the University of Arts in Berlin from summer semester 2007. He previously taught at the Universities of Essen and Dortmund. He is a member of the Type Directors Club of New York, the AGI Alliance Graphique Internationale and the Art Directors Club of Germany. The interdisciplinary design Bremerhaven called Hickmann 2006-2012 to the Board.

Initiated in collaboration with leading German designers action " 11 Designers for Germany " had borne with great media coverage awareness of graphic design in the public and prevent the embarrassing the initiators according Logo of the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany.

Fons Hickmann and his studio was invited at the opening of the world's first museum of graphic design "Graphic Design Museum " exhibit in Breda. The exhibition " European Championship of Graphic Design " was opened by Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands on 11 June 2008.

The Fons Hickmann m23 studio in Berlin is one of the world's most prestigious and received over 200 international awards, including relevant Golden Bee Award Moscow, iF Gold Award, ADC Award from Germany, Europe and the USA, Lead Award in Gold, the. Joseph Binder Award in Gold, Silver and Bronze 2012 honored the Triennale Fons Hickmann Trnava for his oeuvre with the Master 's Eye Award.
