The Forch is a village and a crossing of the area between Lake Zurich and Greifensee Pfannenstiel ridge in the Canton of Zurich in Switzerland. The pass is at 682 m above sea level. M. Wassberg between the north and the actual panhandle to the south.

It was originally referred to the road on the pass with Forch a hamlet about an inn and eight other houses - disposal - including a horse-changing station. Today belong to Forch - for example post - mostly all grown together settlement around the pass:

The Forch is the venue for some sports events like the Forch run ( 21.5 km from Zurich - Fluntern ) and was often on the course of the cycling race Championship of Zurich.

Attraction has the Forch on parapsychologists who want to have measured a tree in Aesch more than 750,000 Bovis units - reportedly the highest value of Switzerland. The effect of this measurement method is disputed by scientists. The tree was felled by 1999 storm Lothar.

The place name is always used by the locals with products. It is derived from the Latin furca, which stands for the pass crossing or a fork.
