The PSA DV engine is a four stroke diesel engine with four cylinders in -line arrangement, which was developed jointly by PSA and Ford as part of the cooperation project GEMINI agreed in 1998.
Ford produced this series of motors under the name DLD engine, the sales designations are HDi (PSA ) or Duratorq TDCi (Ford).

Technology
The DV- engine with a displacement of 1398 cc ( DV4 ) or 1560 cc ( DV6 ) and in different power levels between 40 kW ( 54 hp) and 82 kW (112 hp).
It is equipped with common-rail injection, turbocharger ( DV6 with variable turbine geometry) and intercooler (only DV6 ). The DV4 features with 73.7 mm bore and 82.0 mm stroke on a stroke ratio of 1.11. When DV6 there are 75.0 mm bore, 88.6 mm stroke and a corresponding thereto stroke ratio of 1.18.
Depending on engine performance and production date both engine capacity variants are equipped with a 2-valve SOHC or 4- valve DOHC valve drive with toothed belt. Cylinder crankcase and cylinder head are made of aluminum. The motors weigh between 113 kg and 123 kg ( with oil and clutch without attachments ).

Production
So far (as of 2010 ) were produced more than 16.5 million units of the GEMINI series, the final assembly of the DV motors are in the works Française de Mécanique in Douvrin ( DV4 ) and Usine PSA Trémery ( DV6 ).
