The National Park of Casentino Forests, Mount Falterona Campigna forms the ridge between Romagna and Tuscany.
Geography
Its territory covers a lot of the Apennine Mountains and numerous valleys, flowing rivers which both the Adriatic and the Tyrrhenian Sea. The National Park is situated in the borders of three historic areas: the Romagna, the Casentino and part of the Mugello. Today, these areas are among the three provinces of Forlì- Cesena, Arezzo and Florence.
Flora and Fauna
Chestnuts form the National Park partly pure stands. The fauna has a good population of wild ungulates in fallow deer and red deer, roe deer and wild boar. They are the prey of the wolf, the national park has a healthy end inventory. Other animals are foxes, hares, martens, owls and golden eagles.
