Forfar Athletic ( officially: Forfar Athletic Football Club ) is a Scottish football club based in Forfar. The club was founded in 1885 and entered 1921, the Scottish Football League and the newly formed Second Division at. His most successful period the club had in the 1970s and especially 1980s of the last century. First, for the first time reached the Loons 1977/87 the semi-finals in the League Cup, the biggest success so far of the club's history. 1981/82 Forfar reached the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup. 1986 you missed only one point behind the promotion to the Premier League. The following years were less successful and currently plays in the Second Division Forfar, the third- highest division in Scottish football.
