Forres
Forres is a Royal Burgh in Moray Town in the north of Scotland, with about 9,130 inhabitants ( 2004 estimate ) on the River Findhorn.
Supposedly Forres was already the ancient geographer Ptolemy known as the Port of Varris. Since the 12th century it was a fortified structure for the protection of trade. Is famous son of the city Donald Smith, later known as Lord Strathcona, a pioneer of the Canadian Pacific Railway. On the outskirts of Forres are the Benromach whiskey distilleries and the now disused and converted into a museum in Dallas Dhu.
