Dallas Dhu distillery

Dallas Dhu was a whiskey distillery near Forres, Moray, Scotland. The distillery buildings are sorted in the Scottish lists of monuments in the highest category A. In addition, the system is Grade II listed as a Scheduled Monument.

History

The distillery was founded in 1898 by Wright & Greig Ltd.. founded. The name Dallas comes from the Gaelic word for valley and water, Dhu means black. 1929, the distillery was sold to the Distillers Company Limited ( DCL), which she decommissioned, 1930-1936. 1939, a part of the distillery was destroyed by a fire in 1947 rebuilt and opened. In 1983, the distillery was closed, since 1988 she has been to visit a museum. The old equipment and buildings have been carefully restored.

Production

The water belonging to the Speyside distillery came from the Altyre Burn. The distillery has a wash still ( 6,377 l ) and a spirit still ( 5,623 l).
