Fort Lauderdale is a railway station in the regional and long-distance traffic on the railway line from Mangonia Park and New York City to Miami International Airport. It is located in Fort Lauderdale in Broward County, Florida.

History

The station was originally built in 1927 by the Seaboard Air Line Railroad and designed by the architect Gustav Maass in the Mediterranean style. At the time of racial segregation, the station building had an additional waiting room for the colored population, which is otherwise used today. The station is connected to the Hollywood station further south optically identical.

The station was approached to 1953, among others, the luxury passenger Orange Blossom Special. The Silver Meteor, which was acquired in 1971 by Amtrak, operated since 1939 the station. In addition to the Silver Meteor now also holds the Silver Star in Fort Lauderdale. Since 1989, the station is also served by regional trains of the Tri-Rail.

Connection

In Fort Lauderdale hold both the regional train Tri-Rail as well as long distance trains of Amtrak.
