Mangonia Park is a city in Palm Beach County in the U.S. state of Florida with 1,888 inhabitants ( 2010).

Geography

Mangonia park is directly north of the city of West Palm Beach.

Demographics

According to the 2010 census, the then 1,888 inhabitants distributed in 750 households. The population density was 1048.9 inh. / Km ². 9.5 % of the population were white, 83.1 % African American, 0.6 % Native American and 0.2 % Asian Americans. 3.3% were members of other ethnic groups and 3.4% in different ethnic groups. 9.2% of the population were Hispanic or Latino.

In 2010, children under the age of 18 and 17.7 % of all households lived in 47.1 % of all households with persons at least 65 years. 70.1 % of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring ). The average size of a household was 2.90 persons and the average family size is 3.30 people.

33.0 % of the population were younger than 20 years, 33.0 % were 20-39 years old, 21.7% were 40-59 years old and 12.4 % were at least 60 years old. The median age was 28 years. 46.5 % of the population were male and 53.5 % female.

The average annual income was $ 26,500, while 22.7 % of the population lived below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 80.47 % of the population spoke Spanish 11.04% and 8.49% had a different mother tongue.

Traffic

A few hundred meters from the western city limit runs in a north -south Interstate 95 in rail transport, the city has a stop on the Tri-Rail, for links with regional trains from here to Miami ( Miami Central Station). The nearest airport is Palm Beach 10 km south airport.

Crime

The crime rate in 2010 was with 1,512 points ( U.S. average: 266 points ) in the very high range. This Mangonia Park is considered as the most dangerous city of the Palm Beach County. There were in 2010 four rapes, 22 robberies, 39 injuries, 72 burglaries, 145 thefts, 24 car thefts and one arson.
