Haverhill is a city in Palm Beach County in the U.S. state of Florida with 1,873 inhabitants ( 2010).

Geography

The city is located about 7 km south-west of the center of West Palm Beach, close to Palm Beach Airport. In the east, the Florida State Road 809 is tangent to the urban area.

Demographics

According to the 2010 census, the then 1,873 inhabitants distributed in 687 households. The population density was 3121.7 inh. / Km ². 64.1 % of the population were white, 23.5% African American, 0.5% Native American and 1.8 % Asian Americans. 7.9% were members of other ethnic groups and 2.2% in different ethnic groups. 29.2 % of the population were Hispanic or Latino.

In 2010, children under the age of 18 and 21.8 % of all households lived in 39.0 % of all households with persons at least 65 years. 77.8 % of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring ). The average size of a household was 2.92 and the average family size is 3.19 people.

27.1% of the population were younger than 20 years, 24.2% were 20-39 years old, 33.3 % were 40-59 years old and 15.1 % were at least 60 years old. The median age was 39 years. 49.0 % of the population were male and 51.0 % female.

The average annual income was 52 679, while 14.8 % of the population lived below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 77.93 % of the population spoke Spanish and 22.06 %.
