Hypoluxo is a town in Palm Beach County in the U.S. state of Florida with 2,588 inhabitants ( 2010).

Geography

The city is located 15 km south of West Palm Beach. Due to the metropolitan area leads the U.S. Highway 1, also passes close to Interstate 95 in north-south direction over.

Demographics

According to the 2010 census, the then 2,588 inhabitants distributed to 2,208 households. The population density was 1725.3 inh. / Km ². 87.9 % of the population were white, 7.0% African American, 0.0% Native American and 1.7 % Asian Americans. 1.2% were members of other ethnic groups and 2.2% in different ethnic groups. 6.8% of the population were Hispanic or Latino.

In 2010, children under the age of 18 and 31.1 % of all households lived in 14.4 % of all households with persons at least 65 years. 48.9 % of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring ). The average size of a household was 1.84 persons and the average family size is 2.43 people.

13.2% of the population were younger than 20 years, 23.8 % were 20-39 years old, 30.5% were 40-59 years old and 32.5 % were at least 60 years old. The median age was 49 years. 46.3 % of the population were male and 53.7 % female.

The average annual income was $ 51,952, while 8.6 % of the population lived below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 86.65 % of the population spoke French 5.38% and 7.97% had a different mother tongue.

Crime

The crime rate in 2010 was 107 points ( U.S. average: 266 points ) in the low range. There was a robbery, an assault, eight burglaries and 41 thefts.
