Ocean Ridge is a city in Palm Beach County in the U.S. state of Florida with 1,786 inhabitants ( 2010).

Geography

The city is located on a barrier island elongated along the Atlantic Ocean. It leads directly to the north of Manalapan, in the west of Boynton Beach and on the south by Briny Breezes. Through the urban area lead Florida State Roads A1A and 804

Demographics

According to the 2010 census, the then 1,786 inhabitants distributed to 1,561 households. The population density was 1984.4 inh. / Km ². 97.5 % of the population were white, 0.2% African American, 0.0% Native American and 0.8 % Asian Americans. 0.6 % were members of other ethnic groups and 1.0% of different ethnicities. 4.3% of the population were Hispanic or Latino.

In 2010, children under the age of 18 and 49.9 % of all households lived in 12.1% of all households with persons at least 65 years. 52.2 % of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring ). The average size of a household was 1.88 persons and the average family size is 2.52 people.

12.1% of the population were younger than 20 years, 9.3% were 20 to 39 years old, 30.4% were 40-59 years old and 48.4 % were at least 60 years old. The median age was 59 years. 48.4 % of the population were male and 51.6 % female.

The average annual income was $ 68,750, while 7.0 % of the population lived below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 91.09 % of the population spoke French 3.45% and 5.46% had a different mother tongue.

Crime

The crime rate in 2010 was 175 points ( U.S. average: 266 points ) in the low range. There were three robberies, 14 injuries and 30 burglaries.
