North Palm Beach is a town in Palm Beach County in the U.S. state of Florida with 12,015 inhabitants ( 2010).

Geography

The village is located approximately 10 kilometers north of the center of West Palm Beach. The municipality is crossed by U.S. Highway 1 and by the Florida State Roads A1A, 5 and 850. In addition, passes close to the west by Interstate 95 to North Palm Beach.

Demographics

According to the 2010 census, the then 12,015 inhabitants distributed to 7,710 households. The population density was 1,306 inh. / Km ². 93.3 % of the population were white, 2.7% African American, 0.1% Native American and 1.7 % Asian Americans. 0.9% were members of other ethnic groups and 1.3% in different ethnic groups. 6.9% of the population were Hispanic or Latino.

In 2010, children under the age of 18 and 42.0 % of all households lived in 16.6 % of all households with persons at least 65 years. 52.1 % of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring ). The average size of a household was 1.97 persons and the average family size is 2.63 people.

15.5% of the population were younger than 20 years, 17.4% were 20-39 years old, 31.3 % were 40-59 years old and 36.7 % were at least 60 years old. The median age was 52 years. 48.9 % of the population were male and 51.1 % female.

The average annual income was $ 62,587, while 6.0% of the population lived below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 92.78 % of the population spoke Spanish 3.91% and 3.31% had a different mother tongue.

Crime

The crime rate in 2010 was 168 points ( U.S. average: 266 points ) in the low range. There were nine robberies, 15 injuries and 80 burglaries.
