Lake Clarke Shores is a city in Palm Beach County in the U.S. state of Florida with 3,376 inhabitants ( 2010).

Geography

The city is adjacent southwest of West Palm Beach. Due to the metropolitan area leads the Florida State Road 882, also passes close to Interstate 95 in north-south direction over.

Demographics

According to the 2010 census, the then 3,376 inhabitants distributed to 1,467 households. The population density was 1250.4 inh. / Km ². 90.1 % of the population were white, 2.7% African American, 0.1% Native American and 1.5% Asian Americans. 3.2% were members of other ethnic groups and 2.5% in different ethnic groups. 24.7 % of the population were Hispanic or Latino.

In 2010, children under the age of 18 and 32.3 % of all households lived in 26.9 % of all households with persons at least 65 years. 69.0 % of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring ). The average size of a household was 2.42 persons and the average family size was 2.87 persons.

20.8% of the population were younger than 20 years, 20.1% were 20-39 years old, 33.5 % were 40-59 years old and 25.6 % were at least 60 years old. The median age was 47 years. 48.3 % of the population were male and 51.7 % female.

The average annual income was $ 77,778, while 7.2 % of the population lived below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 84.76 % of the population spoke Spanish and 15.23%.

Crime

The crime rate in 2010 was 180 points ( U.S. average: 266 points ) in the low range. There was a robbery, eight injuries, 19 burglaries, 50 thefts and seven car thefts.
