Belle Glade is a city in Palm Beach County in the U.S. state of Florida with 17,467 inhabitants ( 2010). The city has an area of 12.1 km ², of which 0.1 km ² water surface. Belle Glade is the largest city within an area of 2.86 million acres ( 11.600 km ²) in the subtropical Everglades in central Florida.

Geography

Belle Glade is located in Southeast Florida, Lake Okeechobee, about 100 km north-west of Hialeah and 50 km from the Atlantic Ocean.

Climate

The climate is mild and warm. Statistically, it rains in the summer months to an average of 40 % of the days, even if only temporarily. History
