Royal Palm Beach is a town in Palm Beach County in the U.S. state of Florida with 34 140 inhabitants ( 2010).

Geography

About 15 kilometers east of the village there is West Palm Beach. The municipal area is 7, 80, and 700 traversed by U.S. Highways 98 and 441, as well as the Florida State Roads.

Demographics

According to the 2010 census, the then 34 140 inhabitants distributed to 12,854 households. The population density was 3448.5 inh. / Km ². 66.6 % of the population were white, 22.7 % African American, 0.2% Native American and 4.2% Asian Americans. 3.3% were members of other ethnic groups and 3.0% of different ethnicities. 20.4% of the population were Hispanic or Latino.

In 2010, children under the age of 18 and 23.7 % of all households lived in 44.0 % of all households with persons at least 65 years. 78.3 % of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring ). The average size of a household was 2.93 and the average family size is 3.30 people.

30.0% of the population were younger than 20 years, 23.6% were 20-39 years old, 31.2% were 40-59 years old and 15.3 % were at least 60 years old. The median age was 38 years. 47.8 % of the population were male and 52.2 % female.

The average annual income was $ 66,403, while 7.9 % of the population lived below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 85.80 % of the population spoke Spanish 11.49% and 2.71% had a different mother tongue.

Crime

The crime rate in 2010 was 276 points ( U.S. average: 266 points ) within the average range. There were 14 rapes, 22 robberies, 75 injuries, 174 burglaries, 826 thefts, 62 car thefts and four arson.
