Fotheringay
Fotheringay is a successful and musically sophisticated British folk rock band that was founded by Sandy Denny in 1969 after their exit in Fairport Convention.
The band consisted of:
- Sandy Denny: Vocals, Piano, Acoustic Guitar
- Trevor Lucas: Vocals, Acoustic and Electric Guitar
- Jerry Donahue: lead guitar, choral singing
- Gerry Conway: drums, choral singing
- Pat Donaldson: bass, choral singing
- Linda Peters, death Lloyd: choral singing
The band and LP name is a melancholy ballad of Sandy Denny borrowed, she had published with Fairport Convention in 1969. Musically, the album was engineered folk and rock songs with occasional country and blues - bonds. In 1971, the band broke up for the time being, and Sandy Denny started on the advice of the band member and her future husband Trevor Lucas a solo career. Only in September 2008, the second album was released Fotheringay 2
