Fran Tarkenton

Francis Asbury " Fran" Tarkenton ( born February 3, 1940 in Richmond, Virginia ) is a former American football player, but always lost on the position of quarterbacks, the three stood with the Minnesota Vikings in the Super Bowl. Tarkenton played 18 years in the National Football League ( NFL), and setting numerous records. 1986 Tarkenton was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

College

During his college years Tarkenton played for the Bulldogs from the University of Georgia, which he led in 1959 as a quarterback to win the Southeastern Conference and the Orange Bowl. Two years later Tarnkenton was selected in the third round of the NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings.

Professional time

In addition to his long career in the NFL but also with an entry into the League to his fame helps. During his 18 years in the NFL presented Tarkenton on many records. So he stopped at the end of his career records for pass attempts ( 6,467 ), complete passes ( 3,686 ), yards thrown ( 47 003 ), touchdowns (342 ) and wins by a quarterback (125).
