France 24

France 24 is the French international television news with a focus. It took on 6 December 2006 on the transmission mode.

The program is intended to give the news of French point of view and is based on models such as BBC World News and DW- TV. It is organized jointly by TF1 and the combined entity under the umbrella of France Télévisions public broadcasters. Originally it should Chaîne française d' hot international information ( CFII ). First, the program in the Europe, Africa and the Middle East via satellite or cable and worldwide via the Internet is widespread. In order to reach a wide audience, is sent to both French and English as well as Arabic. Originally wish President Jacques Chirac should be sent only in French, to counter the dominance of English-language news channel CNN.

Under the new plans by President Nicolas Sarkozy to revise the public media, however, the transmitter should be merged with TV5, and bear the name "France Monde". France 24 and the French overseas radio Radio France Internationale (RFI ) were merged under the umbrella of Audiovisual Extérieur de la France (AEF ) in February 2012. The extensive protests of workers and listeners were unsuccessful.
