Francesco Tristano Schlimé

Francesco Tristano Schlimé (born 16 September 1981) is a Luxembourgian pianist, composer and producer.

Life

Schlimé, who performs under the name Francesco Tristano, began at the age of five years playing the piano at age 13 and gave his first concert of his own compositions.

Tristano is a graduate of the Juilliard School in New York, where he took lessons with Bruce Brubaker and Jacob Latins and the master class graduated with Rosalyn Tureck. In addition, he studied at the Conservatories in Brussels, Riga, Paris and Luxembourg, and in 2003 at the Academy of Music of Catalonia in Barcelona.

Tristano debuted in 2000 with the Russian National Orchestra, with whom he recorded Sergei Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No. 5 and Ravel's Piano Concerto. Later he toured with the French National Orchestra of Lille, the Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg and others.

In 2001 he founded the chamber ensemble "The New Bach Players", for which he has an original transcription for piano and orchestra by Antonio Vivaldi realized and directed The Four Seasons. In 2004 he won the International Pianist Award for contemporary music in the French Orléans. In 2006 he founded the band " Sunrise ", their first album was released in 2009. Tristano was "Artist in Residence " of the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra in the season 2010 /2011.

Francesco Tristano has released numerous albums, including with various awards gave recordings of Bach's Goldberg Variations and the pianistic complete works of Luciano Berio. On his 2007 album released "Not for Piano" he presents means of stylistic borrowings from classical and minimalist music solo own versions of techno classics for piano. For his album " Idiosynkrasia " Tristano worked with Carl Craig.

Tristano occurs both on the stages internationally renowned concert halls such as a club and techno temples. He sees himself as a frontier between classical and techno.
