Francis Xavier Irwin

Francis Xavier Irwin ( born January 9, 1934 in Medford ) is a retired auxiliary bishop in Boston.

Life

The Archbishop of Boston, Richard Cardinal Cushing James, donated to him on February 2, 1960, ordained priest for the Archdiocese of Boston.

Pope John Paul II appointed him on 24 July 1996 as Auxiliary Bishop of Boston and Titular Bishop of Ubaza. The Archbishop of Boston, Bernard Francis Cardinal Law, donated to him on 17 September of the same year, the episcopal ordination; Theodore Edgar McCarrick were co-consecrators, Archbishop of Newark, and Robert Joseph Banks, Bishop of Green Bay.
