Francisco Cornejo

Francisco Cornejo (* 1892 in La Paz, Mexico, † 1963 in Mexico) was a Mexican painter and sculptor.

Biography

Cornejo went after studying in Mexico City from 1911 to 1930 to Los Angeles. He taught there ancient American art teacher in San Francisco. Its influenced by the art of Maya artistic works he exhibited in Mexico City, from Stanford University, the California School of Fine Arts and in Los Angeles. Among his best known works include the Indian facade decoration at the Mayan Theater in Los Angeles. The theater itself was built to a design by architect Stiles O. Clements.
