Francisco Luis Bernárdez

Francisco Luis Bernárdez ( born October 5, 1900 in Buenos Aires, † October 24, 1978 ) was an Argentine diplomat and writer.

Bernárdez lived 1920-1924 in Vigo ( Spain), where he worked as a journalist and was very influenced by the modern literature there. After his return he came about his friendship with Roberto Arlt and other writers to Grupo Florida. During this time Bernárdez had a job as a journalist for the daily newspaper La Nación; later he moved to Critico.

1948 took him the Academie Argentina de Letras on as a member. In 1950, President Juan Perón appointed him to the diplomatic service; he represented his country until 1960 in Madrid. After his return from Spain, he soon retired from public life.
