François Boucq

François Boucq ( born November 28, 1955 in Lille ) is a French comic book artist.

His first drawings, political cartoons, he published in 1974 in Le Point. After a few series he began in 1983 regularly for the magazine (à suivre ) to draw. From those works created later " Les Pionniers de l' Aventure Humaine " ( " The pioneers of the human adventure "), " Point de Fuite pour les Braves " and "La Pédagogie you sidewalk ." For " The pioneers ... " in German appeared in Alpha Comic Verlag, Boucq won the 1992 Max and Moritz Prize.

Along with Jerome Charyn, he worked on " La Femme du magicien " (engl.: " The wife of the Magician" ) and " Bouche du Diable " (engl.: "Devil's Mouth " ), with Alejandro Jodorowsky on " Face de Lune " ( dt. " moon face "), which now extends to three volumes in Germany.

In 1998 he won the Grand Prix de la Ville d' Angoulême at the Festival International de la Bande Dessinée d' Angoulême.

Moreover, the end of the 90 series over the dressed in leopard skin and with a fountain pen was created by the nose decorated insurance agent " Jerome Moucherot " (engl.: " Horst Meier Katz " ) and his adventures. The " Bengal Tiger", as he is called by his wife lovingly, is an older character from " The Pioneers ... ", which are now dedicated in addition to various short stories more complex comic novels. The stories take place in a satirically exaggerated urban jungle in which only counts for survival. In addition to creatures from different cultural and geological ages there appear again and again (for example, Leonardo da Vinci) on characters from other comics ( for example Smurfs ) as well as historical figures.

In 2001, he worked again with Jodorowsky, this time to the hardboiled Western series " Bouncer ". His most recent publications are the first four volumes of the series " Janitor ", which he created with the script-writer Yves Sente.
