Frank Farrar

Frank Leroy Farrar ( born April 2, 1929 in Britton, Marshall County, South Dakota ) is a former American politician ( Republican). He was from 1969 to 1971 the 24th Governor of the State of South Dakota.

Early years and political rise

Frank Farrar attended the University of South Dakota, where he studied law among others. Between 1949 and 1953 he was in the reserve of the U.S. Army and during the Korean War he was recruited 1953-1955 for active service. After the end of the war he was until 1957 a tax official. In 1958 he was briefly judge before he was 1959-1962 District Attorney in Marshall County. Between 1963 and 1969, Frank Farrar Attorney General of South Dakota.
