Frank Schlesinger

Frank Schlesinger (May 11, 1871 in New York City; † July 10, 1943 ) was an American astronomer.

Schlesinger worked at Yerkes Observatory and delivered pioneering work in the use of photographic methods to determine stellar parallaxes.

He was director of the Allegheny Observatory from 1905 to 1920 and of the Yale University Observatory from 1920 to 1941.

Schlesinger edited and published the Yale Bright Star Catalogue.

Schlesinger was in 1927 awarded the Gold Medal of the Royal Astronomical Society, and in 1929, the Bruce Medal.
