Frank the Baptist

Frank the Baptist is an American Gothic-/Death-Rock-Band from the California San Diego, founded in the late 1990s by frontman Frank Vollmann.

History

After the band released two EPs and self-distributed in 1999 and 2000, the newly founded label Strobelight Records became aware of them. There was published in 2003 the official debut album, Different Degrees of Empty. It received good reviews. Thomas Thyssen described the plate in the magazine Sonic Seducer as "Hammer disk ".

Followed in 2004, the second album Beggars Would Ride. On this occasion, the band undertook their first European tour. In May 2005 the band played at the Music Festival Wave -Gotik-Treffen.

Frank Vollmann moved to Berlin in 2006, where he met with Fez Wrecker ( Bonniwell Music Machine, The Fuzztones ) and Benn Ra ( Hatesex, Diva Destruction ) teamed, both of whom had already worked on the project from 1997 to 1998 Frank the Baptist. The Berlin Phanthomas completed as a drummer, the new cast, which gave its first concert in 2006 at the Leipzig villa.

In November 2006, the band in Berlin- Kreuzberg recorded in the studio Wong on the third album The New Colossus, which was published in 2007.

Since 2008, Justin Stephens (instead of Benn Ra) bassist of the band.
