Geography

Geographical Location

Frankenhardt is in the Hohenlohe region in northeastern Baden -Württemberg. The community has a share in the natural areas Swabian- Franconian Forest, Franconia height and Hohenlohe -Haller level. Through the municipal area the Jagst flows.

Neighboring communities

The municipality is bordered to the north by the city of Crailsheim, to the east by Stimpfach, on the southeast by Jagstzell, to the south by Rosenberg, both in Ostalb, on the southwest by Bühlertann, on the west by Obersontheim and the city Vellberg.

The community Frankenhardt consists of 39 villages, hamlets, farms and houses.

For the former municipality Honhardt the village Honhardt, the hamlet Altenfelden, Appensee, Bechhof, Eckarrot, Gauchshausen, Hirschhof, Ipshof, Main Kling, Neuhaus, Reifenhof, Reishof, Sandhof, Steinbach belong to the Jagst, Unterspeltach, Vorderuhlberg and to Wagner, the homestead Belzhof and the habitations spot Bacher Sagmuhle, Grunbachsägmühle, Henkensägmühle and Tiefensägmühle.

Furthermore, situated on the territory of the former municipality Honhardt numerous Outbound villages. Furthermore, situated on the territory of the former municipality Gründelhardt the disposed towns castle handle mountain, Vogelsberg and Girsberg, hamlets and to murderers. On the south shore of the lake Rear Give the castle hill of the fortified settlement located at the taverns lakes.

For the former municipality Oberspeltach the village Oberspeltach, the hamlet Bonolzhof, Steinehaig and forest book and the house Neuberg include ( uninhabited forest house ) and the dialed villages paddock, Reinhart Weiler, Wolf Mountain and Castle Hill.

History

Frankenhardt has arisen in the course of administrative reform on 1 January 1974 by the merger of the formerly independent communities Gründelhardt and Honhardt. A year later, on 1 January 1975, the previously separate municipality Oberspeltach was even incorporated. see also Postal castle hill, castle ruins Neuberg

The municipality is part of the Agreed administrative community of the city of Crailsheim.

Economy and infrastructure

Public institutions

Fire protection is provided by the volunteer fire department Frankenhardt and through the military base Crailsheim. In Frankenhardt there are four emergency vehicles, two vehicles in Gründelhardt a car in Honhardt and one in Oberspeltach. The staff strength of the volunteer fire department Frankenhardt is about 100 men.

Education

There is a primary school in Frankenhardt - Gründelhardt and high school with Werkrealschule in Frankenhardt - Honhardt.
