Franklin H. Lichtenwalter

Franklin Herbert Lichtenfeld Walter ( born March 28, 1910 in Palmerton, Carbon County, Pennsylvania, † March 4, 1973 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania ) was an American politician. Between 1947 and 1951 he represented the State of Pennsylvania in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Franklin Light Walter attended the public schools of his native land and from then until 1929, the Allentown High School. From 1933 until his death in 1973, he worked in the insurance industry. At the same time he proposed as a member of the Republican Party launched a political career. Between 1938 and 1947 he sat as an MP in the House of Representatives from Pennsylvania. From 1943 to 1946 he headed the Republican faction; in 1947 he was president of this chamber.

After the death of Mr Charles L. Gerlach was light at the Walter overdue election for the eighth seat of Pennsylvania as his successor in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he took up his new mandate on 9 September 1947. After a re-election, he could remain until January 3, 1951 at the Congress. This period was marked by the events of the Cold War. In 1950 he gave up another candidacy.
